Day One - Welcome to Paris
Our accommodation for our stay in Paris was the Hotel Londres located in the 1st arrondissement. It is a lovely boutique hotel in a neighborhood filled with shops and resturants. After meeting up with our fellow travelers and wonderful guide William in the cozy lounge area we set out on foot to explore Rue Cler a charming pedestrian street lined with speciality shops, cafes, and open air food stalls. We are definitely foodies and we enjoyed this quintessentially Parisian experience. After a welcome dinner together we hopped a bus tour for a spin around town.
The area is well-connected to the rest of the city, with several metro stations nearby. We were provided a metro pass for the whole of the tour. The metro is easy, clean, efficient and a fast way to get around Paris. There was also near our hotel many famous landmarks within walking distance.
