Day Two - Historic Heart of Paris
Another beautiful sunny morning as we head out to the historic heart of Paris the Île de la Cité.
The Île de la Cité is the birthplace of Paris, and it has been occupied since the Roman era. The island is home to several important historical and cultural landmarks, including the Notre-Dame Cathedral, which was still under renovation from the fire during our visit and we unfortunately were not allowed inside. We did however see Sainte-Chapelle a beautiful Gothic style royal chapel. The breathtaking tall stained glass windows depict scenes from the Old and New Testaments.

After lunch we explored the Latin Quarter. Known for its bohemian vibe, the streets are winding and narrow and bustling with people. It is home to the famous Sorbonne, Pantheon and the funky Shakespeare & Co. bookstore.
